Etale Educational Development Center - Namibia

The main objective of this project is to complete the construction of the Etale Educational Development Center, which began in 2018. The project was halted because of a lack of funding resources and community fundraising due to the COVID-1P Pandemic. However, since the halt of the project, there has been an increase students and increased need of resources to complete this project.

Etale Combined School has about 800 students, from pre-primary to grade 11, and 30 teachers and staff. The school hall would be used for school events, morning meditation, cultural ceremonies, fundraisers, parent teachers meetings, speech and debate competitions, classroom engagement spaces, and much more. Etale Combined School is currently holding all school events under a big tree which does not fully accommodate all of the learners and staff at Etale C.S. For our learners, a school hall would mean more flexibility and educational opportunities in their overall school life. For our community, the hall would mean more opportunities for cultural and community networking and fellowship to take place.

Another goal of the project is to rebuild the school kitchen to allow a commerical kitchen for the feeding program. The feeding program gives
students access for students to one free lunch at school, which consists of a maize meal, also known as traditional pap.

The construction of the Etale Combined School Educational Development Center will include a stage, bathrooms, a kitchen, classrooms, club spaces and much, much more. The fundraising money will go toward labor, bricks, electricity, large windows, doors, desks, tables, and chairs and the ovverall completion of the building.
